Empower Others

Kevin Reid inspires people with his joyful enthusiasm, all-embracing love, and playful humor, as a songwriter, music & event producer, musician and guitar teacher.

Kevin sees the current global context as an opportunity for humanity to bring forth a higher expression of itself to address the complex problems facing the world today. He understands the current global context/crisis, as an evolutionary process fueled by personal and planetary life conditions and cultural complexity resulting in the need for deeper understanding and greater compassion within and between individuals and cultures.

Kevin recognizes the great value of the objective approach of modern science with its knowledge and understanding of the exterior world and deeply embraces the subjective approach of spiritual and religious traditions with its wisdom and awareness of the interior world of consciousness and divine spirit. He sees the emerging integral worldview championed by the work of Ken Wilber, Steve McIntosh, Dr. Don Beck, Michael Dowd and many others, as providing the evolutionary understanding and conceptual framework to provide a deeper, more comprehensive understanding of life, thereby allowing more "truth, beauty and goodness" to express in our personal lives, relationships and throughout the cultural and developmental diversity of our global community.

In 1989, Kevin founded Musical Expressions, Inc., a music school located in the Chicago suburb of Naperville, Illinois. As owner and director, the school grew to 30 teachers and nearly 600 students. He formed Light, Love & Power Global Enterprises in 2006 - a nonprofit organization working "for the benefit of all" by producing music, events, campaigns and initiatives to promote unity and inspire positive cultural expression, locally and globally. In 2007, Kevin digitally released an intimate guitar/vocal CD entitled, Ready or Not, Here I Come, which is available for download. In May, 2008 he relocated to Sedona, AZ where his time was spent developing LLP Global's "World Unity Day" initiative, which led him to producing a World Unity Day event on November 11, 2008 to commemorate Mayor Rob Adams' official support. The initiative also recieved an officail endorsement from the City of Phoenix Human Relations Commission and the city's mayor, Phil Gordon. Kevin hit the road for Music City, USA (Nashville) at the fall of '09 to focus on songwriting. At the end of 2010, he returned to the Chicago area where he is currently teaching at Sheaff Music and out of his home studio in Oak Park. He is colloborating with The Well, a center that promotes "unity with God, Earth and one another", on a 2011 World Unity Day event and will be teaching a class there in the Fall. He's entering the Friends First mentoring program for at-risk youth at the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls and recently joined in support of the Free Hugs Campaign on Global Love Day, May 1, by giving 'free hugs' in downtown Oak Park with one of his students - an effort that generated an article in the local paper, "Building Community, One Hug A Time" and a Free Hugs video.
